I really enjoyed A Haunted History of Invisible Women. It is so well-researched, entertaining and informative. If you love ghost stories, you will want to add it to your collection. I appreciated that the authors wrote this to highlight the tales surrounding history's "invisible women." Here, we don't just get a mere mention of grey ladies and unnamed maiden ghosts. The women behind these stories are brought back to life, and in a way that is very empathetic. I would absolutely reread this volume.I really enjoyed A Haunted History of Invisible Women. Author Elysabeth Grace has given us a memorable story of Black love and two sisters that you will absolutely admire. Kate and Meg are wonderful characters, strong and brave women who end up in the court of Elizabeth I. However, there is a terrible plot afoot and their own family member is involved. There is lots of court intrigue here, as well as two terrific romances. We get to see several characters from that timeline, including Shakespeare and Christopher Marlowe. The details are precise, giving us a real feel for this world. The research here was meticulous. What a fabulous adventure of a book! I absolutely adored Georgina and Cinder and the pirate crew. Barb Curtis has given us an enjoyable small-town romance in Forever With You. This is a second-chance romance between former flames who find themselves forced to work together, thanks to a couple of meddling grandparents. I loved the winery and restaurant backdrop. Katrina Jackson's The Tenant is an amazing read. This is the tale of a young Black man named Noel who inherits a former plantation house from his great-aunt. Because he has just lost his job, and his options have run out, he decides to check the place out. He soon learns it's haunted, but by a ghost who is connected to his family. The characterization in this book is excellent. With just a couple of well-placed sentences, the author creates vivid pictures of the people who make up this house's story. It is so compelling. Personally, I love a good ghost story, and this one ticked all my boxes. I don't think there are too many authors who weave together erotic romance, race relations and hauntings, but Katrina Jackson does it. I was so invested in Noel and Ruby's unusual romance, and in the history that brought them together. This book is definitely going to stay with me for a long time.Katrina Jackson's The Tenant is an amazing read. Bronte by Manuela Santoni was an interesting graphic novel. It tells the story of the three Bronte sisters and their relationship with their troubled brother, Branwell. Having recently watched the movie To Walk Invisible, this book ended up being a great companion piece and it dealt with the same subject matter. I loved Scandal in the VIP Suite by Nadine Gonzalez. It's full of glamor, sensuality and romance. Featuring a movie star hero whose career isn't as dynamic as it used to be, and a writer who is visiting Miami in remembrance of her mom, it gets off to a steamy start. Due to a reservation snafu, they end up sharing the same suite at a luxury hotel. The chemistry is immediate and I really enjoyed their banter. It's so easy to get swept away in this story. Royalty is in the news a lot these days, so Running from Royalty from Sheryl Nantus feels very fresh, current and relatable. This is the story of a woman who once turned down a prince. After a tragic beginning to the story, that prince is now king of a small European country. Heroine Kick travels to Teddy's home to help him through the worst time of his life. Immediately, they are both overwhelmed by emotions that never went away. Their connection has always run deep and Teddy has always seen Kick as the one who got away. Sheryl Nantus does a great job showing what it must be like to live in a palace, surrounded by servants, media and other royals. I really loved the way the author portrayed Teddy's raw feelings and the way Kick supported him. This is a couple who are forced to make difficult decisions in an extraordinary situation, while learning how to love again. Will heroine Kick be able to set aside her life and business to join Teddy on the throne? Read this entertaining book and see!

Fascinating! I know I'm late to the Sherry Thomas party, but I was excited to see what she would do with the Sherlock Holmes mythology, and her particular spin is memorable and exciting. I adored Charlotte Holmes and her journey. There were a lot of moving parts here, and the author has woven several crimes together with intricacy. Each aspect was written meticulously, and she kept me guessing until the very end. The attention to detail was incredible and I felt completely immersed. The Best Man Problem by Mariah Ankenman is a delightful romance. I really love this author's voice and her sense of humour. She has created an interesting set up with her group of wedding planners and the people they encounter. The heroine Lilly has a rule to never date anyone associated with the weddings she plans. In walks Lincoln, the best man from her latest wedding party. The chemistry is there from the start, but these two fight it. Lilly was once burned by dating a "best man," and is almost ruined her business. As for Lincoln, he has demons too, in the shape of a cheating ex. Neither gives their heart easily, but when they do, it's easy to fall in love along with them. I picked up this cookbook on a whim because I'm not really a meal prep person. However, despite that, I found it a great cookbook. So great, in fact, that I ended up buying a copy! In the space of one week, I did several of the recipes, and they got rave reviews from my family. The recipes are short, easy to follow, and you probably already have a ton of the ingredients sitting in your fridge. I will use it again and again. The only downside in my opinion is that it's very meat heavy, so if you prefer not to eat meat, you'll have to think outside the box a bit. That being said, there are several pasta and legume recipes as well, and if you have dietary restrictions, you can easily substitute the necessary ingredients.I picked up this cookbook on a whim because I'm not really a meal prep person. I enjoyed this second installment of The Healing Edge series. In book one, the author draws the reader into the story of Cate Duncan, a therapist with issues of her own. Her world changes forever when she learns she is an empath and is recruited to work for the MacGregor Group, an organization filled with psychically-gifted individuals. In book 2, Cate has begun her training. We also see her in the throes of a new romance with Ben MacGregor, a former Marine and leader of their ensemble. The group is called into action when an acclaimed doctor is poisoned and on the brink of death. Cate and her friends must employ their unique talents to delve inside the doctor's mind and discover who attacked him. However, the case brings to light old wounds for Cate and presents new struggles. Can she come to terms with her feelings for Ben? Can she help a man who can only communicate telepathically? And will her efforts endanger her as well? Ms. Eden takes us on a remarkable journey, one laced with intrigue, romance and hope.I enjoyed this second installment of The Healing Edge series. I loved Anise Eden's All The Light There Is, indeed, the entire series. From book 1, I have been captivated by the story of Cate, a woman coming to terms with her paranormal powers. With book three, Ms. Eden sweeps us into a world where the bad guys have tremendous power and influence and where they seek to obtain control on a large scale. The group of psychic talents, led by hero Ben and his love Cate, know they must stop them even if it puts them in danger. At the same time, they hope to discover the truth behind the mystery of Cate's father and his connection with Mercier Lodge. In this story, we never know exactly who is in on the insidious plot or who can be trusted.

I'm always on the lookout for new vegan/vegetarian cookbooks, and this one intrigued me immediately. It's got recipe ideas from the "blue zones" around the world, regions in which people live long lives and healthy lifestyles. I think there was some excellent advice in here, especially if you are open to changing elements in your diet. That being said, upon closer inspection, some of the recipes seemed higher maintenance than I would have liked. For instance, the minestrone recipe in the Italian section says it takes several hours to prepare if you're using dry beans. Personally, I'm looking for something easier than that. That being said, one could probably tweak things to make the recipes more manageable.I'm always on the lookout for new vegan/vegetarian cookbooks, and this one intrigued me immediately. My Fake Rake was such a pleasure read for me. From the tantalizing setup to the satisfying HEA, it hit all the marks of a great romance. The characters are engaging and interesting. The conflict is credible and valid. I really appreciated the way the author handled the topic of social anxiety in the hero, and the way the heroine helped him through it. This has got to be one of my favourite movies of all time. That being said, it is quirky and full of vampire gags. What is it about? A group of vampire flatmates, living in modern-day New Zealand, coping with day-to-day trials such as the neighbouring band of werewolves, an upcoming vampire gala and pesky familiars. I've watched it several times now, and it still makes me laugh. In a nutshell, it's a bit like "This is Spinal Tap" meets "Dracula." The cast is brilliant and it's actually quite heartwarming in places. Give it a go if you want something a little different. This has got to be one of my favourite movies of all time. I came to the Widow of Rose House quite eagerly. This is exactly my sort of novel: a gothic romance, featuring ghosts and a Gilded Age New York setting. I should have loved this book, but unfortunately it didn't quite fit the bill for me. It did have some wonderful banter between the hero and heroine, and I really enjoyed getting to know the characters. However, the conflict felt flimsy. The "ghosts" don't actually appear until late in the novel, so that whole plotline felt forced. And, as an aficionado of ghost stories, I didn't really appreciate the way the spirits manifested in this one. I found it a bit confusing. I also found the novel dragged in places. The first half felt a bit slow to me. The book might still appeal to others, and there are many great reviews online.
