Good series- I always thought it was a little over hyped- but it does have it's moments.
The show is low mentality mediocre British comedy at it's worst. Don't bother unless you are into Monty Python and such.
The U.S. version isn't nearly as good, but I never get tired of the original! Brilliant!!!
Brutally funny! If you are a young woman working in an office don't watch it alone.
You may kill yourself.
This show is simply the best. The cast is perfect. The humor may not be for everyone, but I love it. I've watched the series numerous times (there are only 12 half-hour episodes over two seasons, plus the finale special), and I still thoroughly enjoy it. For me, the American version never measured up to the brilliance of this original series.
Too cynical and stupid for words .... we only watched a few minutes and got really tired of it.....
No real comparison with the American Office Series is required, the UK is a classic in it's own right. This is the show tha launched many copies. The American characters are a little better fleshed that the ones on the UK series if only due to the greater amount of episodes, but it's basic formula come from this. I highly recommend it to any fan of subtle British Humour.
Funny but cruder than its American counterpart. I still like me some Michael Scott over this.
It seems hard to believe that this UK version of 'The Office' was able to generate so many successful, localized versions of the same. Most people know about the US version with Steve Carell, but there are versions in Germany, France, Quebec, Israel and now even in China. The thing is, this one isn't really that funny. The episodes are so hit and miss; a couple are hilarious, but mostly I found them to be awkward and boring. Ricky Gervais seems to be playing himself in this series, a guy who thinks he is much more funny than is true. It's okay, but I'd say just watch the US version.
Brilliant, just brilliant. Not everybody gets Ricky Gervais, but if you do, you will love this. So much better than the American version.
Totally cluesless git wrapped up in his own self centered world.A role model for our times.
Interesting bunch of characters both revolting and charming make for a wonderfully funny and unique comedy. Full of awkward, tense, hilarious and touching moments. One of a kind.
So uncomfortable to watch at first. The familiarity of the characters grows on you. And then you just shake your head with sad amusement. Who hasn't worked in this environment?
