This book is even better from the first one. After reading this, first book looks like it was just to build up the story. You will love this!

Meh. Continues the story, but Sophie and Josh play a small role (besides beibg kidnapped and being manipulated by other characters in the book. Lots of new mythological gods, but really just a bridge between books 3 and 4. Not bad, just meh.

Getting better. I gave this book the same rating as The Alchemyst, but I liked this one a little better than the first book, especially toward the end. Lots of fighting action, new villains and heroes, and Perenelle *finally* is part of the plot/action instead of just sitting in a cell looking at the ceiling. The only real bad part of this book was Flamel. In this book he is whiny, mostly ineffective, tired, and pretty much a by-stander for much of the story. Kind of disappointing since he is one of the main characters.

Great book, better read the first book; the Alchemyst to fully understand it! This is a series all the way to book 6; The Enchantress.

As the second book in the series, Michael Scott's skill grows along with the books. While the first one was set more for a teenage audience, The Magician shows a more complicated story. Very action packed, I did not want to put it down. I am now looking forward to the rest of the series even more.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad that Mars was included!! Pretty good book all-in-all, though some parts seemed a bit juvinile. and he completely ruined Nidhogg. DO MORE RESEARCH!!!!!!!!!!!! I liked this one better than the first.

I really enjoyed this book as it continues the series and introduces you to more and more historical characters, however, some of the characters become obnoxious during this book.

Continues strongly, no boring points, plot thickens, more questions asked, more things learned, new characters introduced, Michael Scott takes it away!!!

It's fun to have a bunch of famous characters running around and having adventures. And I do want to continue reading to see what happens...but the writing style is a bit repetitive, and everything is a superlative: every enemy is the most fearsome of all, every one is the best fighter, the most powerful etc. Gets a little tiresome.
But over-all still a fun read.

If you read The Alchemyst, you have to read this next! The author continues to add new characters who do exist and give them each a twisting story of their own. Definitely could not put it down.
