I like this series because it has great character development. In this book The SIT (Sorceress In Training) Sophie and her newly awakened brother must travel to England to try and learn water magic from the deranged legend Gilgamesh. But is Gilgamesh safe? And with Josh harboring new doubts about Nicholas will they be able to stay alive before Josh destroy's them all? Or will his untrained powers get the best of them? 12+

the cool thing about this book is that the symbol on the cover hints to plot of the story. It has historical characters that I really enjoyed.

Perenelle Flamel is still trapped on Alcatraz in San Francisco, and as if having the deadly magic-sucking Sphinx hunting her down isn’t bad enough, Billy the Kid has arrived with reinforcements. However, the bad guys seem to have underestimated the Sorceress. She has had a little time to recharge her powers, and is ready and waiting for whatever he brings her way. But the Crow Goddess and the Old Man in the Sea are the ones coming for her. They could be trouble. Especially if they unleash the bizarre army of monsters locked in the cells of Alcatraz Prison.
Nicholas Flamel has traveled to London with the twins. Both of them have had their powers awakened, and their gold and silver auras are the strongest and purest anyone has ever seen. Sophie has already been trained in both the Magic of the Wind and the Magic of Fire. Josh, however, is still powerless and a bit jealous of his sister. The goal is to have Gilgamesh the King train them in the Magic of Water. The only problem is, the last time Flamel and Gilgamesh talked, the King tried to kill him. All their hope lies in the crazed mind of the oldest being alive. And Machiavelli is hot on their trail. If Gilgamesh can’t help them, then they might be stuck without options. The Flamels are aging faster with each day and desperately need to find the Book of Abraham the Mage or they’ll die.
The Sorceress is an exciting novel. The third installment in the Nicholas Flamel series, it introduces several new characters, and is full of action and surprising twists. Not a boring read by any means!

Finally! This book is the best one so far. I have been waiting and waiting for Perenelle to play a bigger role I the story. She is one of the best characters in the book. I can't stand nicholas's whining all the time! Lots of action. This book made me want to read more!

At the end of each chapter the author changes perspectives which builds the suspense and i love that about this series. This series gets better every chapter.

Very good, again, I must add. Despite my doubts, this series has actually turned out pretty well. Although its a rather long book, it is never boring, and the plot, storyline and characters are all well thought out. Great read. Highly recommended.

This series is just getting better the farther you get into it, this is probably the best book (in my opinion) of the whole series! Great how Scott changes the points of view so you can get a full picture of what is happening.

OK - these just keep getting better and better! This has to be one of the best fantasy series I've read! Feels so unique, but I'm sure it's been told hundreds of times (as with most fantasy stories). Each book in the series highlights a different character, but keeps telling the story from various perspectives - not as confusing as one might think. It's fast paced, and intriguing. When I finished the last page my first thought was: "I can't wait until MAY 2010 for the next one !!!"

Amazing book!!!! Highly reccomend it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was incredibly well-writen. For those who have read the book, you know the importance of the frienship bracelets, but did you know that a comment was made in passing about them in the first book? The author obviously planned out the whole series. Can't wait for The Necromancer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think its as good as the first two to read again, but that's mainly because you hardly see Scathach.
