Once I was able to see a lot more clearer, I indeed got way more out of this the 2nd time round (or in my case, a few years around the son). It is so cool, depending on how a movie is done to be able to get to a different level of understanding. Indeed an very interesting way of cleaning things up. Well done
Made to conform to established values in Hollywood depictions of the justice system. There's the slick lawyer who manages to stay out of trouble most of the time, the dubious client, some characters around the lawyer who are in danger, and so on. Never really good, never bad.
McConaughey is almost always likeable. : )
Typical Follywood film fare, but good acting, and some interesting plot lines.
Matthew McConaughey certainly held my attention, his charactor was very entertaining, creative, sexy, surprising with every detail played out like this was such a natural part for him. Working from his car and his detective good guy charming attitude really made the movie!!
I felt that it was a true story! Wonderful!!
McConaughey carries the film, once underrated as an actor he rarely misses anymore. Connelly writes about the dark side of LA and his books are better than movies or TV shows but if he can get McConaughey then I hope they continue the Lincoln Lawyer series in movies.
Re-watched after having seen it years ago. Held up nicely. Very good movie.
It had been years since I read the book or saw the film. Refreshed my mind on what story was about & how it ended. I used to like this actor...
Watch out he's in a Lincoln again but he wasn't driving. The accused was a good opposing character to the lawyer, from the beginning he oooz bad vibs. I like the he said she said story line. The viewers have to pick a side. It was a pretty entertaining movie.
A fairly good movie about the sleezy side of the criminal law profession and the human garbage they represent.
Generally a fine movie.
But I was bothered by the sudden change in filming style for the last 15 or 20 minutes of the movie. Shakey hand held cuts and amature quick zooms really changed the filming style. But why? It worked in Goodfellas as the change in style mimicked the change in mental state of the main characters. But not here.
McConaughey really went for broke on this one, shedding his rom-com persona and delivering a great performance.
McConaughey owns the screen as a street-wise defense lawyer working the system to achieve justice. Good movie, good cast. Everything wraps up maybe just a tad bit too easily at the end, and the bad guy doesn't suffer enough, but an enjoyable film up until then.
This is one of those films that keep the audience truly engaged from beginning to end.
Just read the book and now saw the movie. The movie was very good but always difficult to match the book for detail, All in all a good movie for a Saturday nights entertainment.
light entertainment. good for a Sunday evening to get ready for the week day schedule.
This turned out to be a very good movie. Some real good twists in the movie, good acting and decent story. Well worth the watch.
