Not quite sure how this was different from soap opera. Had all the same tropes.

I have absolutely zero free time and energy to spend reading about horrible people doing horrible things because of horrible ideas and their horrible perceptions of themselves and the world around them. I gather enough of that from the world just passing a TV during the 6:00 PM news or with a glance of a newspaper headline at the bus stop. I’m tapped out, people. I barely made it half way through this play when I realized it would be a pointless avalanche of worst ideas ever. No thank you. Moving on.

Yes. Well .What a miserable film. A brilliant cast who gave excellent performances and excellent photography, not to mention the scenery. But....this was a relentlessly depressing film about a thoroughly dysfunctional family. 'Happy Families' they couldn't play, not even for one day. Oh those skeletons that inevitably got out of the closet . It was black but not to the point I got any humour. Most unenjoyable.
