With the help of her rescue cat Eddie, librarian Minnie Hamilton is driving a bookmobile based in the resort town of Chilson, Michigan. But shed better keep both hands on the wheel, because its going to be a bumpy ride.
I devoured Laurie Cass' 2nd novel in the Bookmobile Cat Mystery series. Minnie is back, and so is Eddie, in this fun cozy. After Minnie saves a local man's life, she becomes fast friends with the man and his wife. Soon, though, things get out of hand when her new friend is accused of murder. Minnie is determined to find out who the real murderer is, before her friend is jailed for something she knows he didn't do.
Along the way, Minnie is tasked with a difficult project by her boss, library director Steven, and starts to wonder if her sexy new boyfriend is as interested in her as she is in him. Plus, her Aunt Frances is wondering if her matchmaking system is going to fail for the first summer ever. Top it off with Eddie's antics, bookmobile fun, and library happenings that any library staff-person can relate to, and you get a fantastic cozy worth cozing up with!
I can't wait to read book 3-and trust me, it won't be long!
Could do without the Aunt Frances matchmaking story line but thankfully it isn't mentioned too much. At times I had forgotten there was a murder to be solved since the story seemed to be about Eddie. An okay story just to pass the time away. Better to read the story in one day. I read part of it and then continued the next day finding that I had forgotten who some of the characters were they didn't stand out.
Cass's first book about Eddie and Minnie, Lending a Paw, was delightful.. Sadly, Tail ing a Tabby is not. Bloated with minor characters and a murder victim we never meet, this was a disappointment to me.
