"One snowy night, a fox loses its way, entering a village. Chased away by the grown ups, Fox takes shelter in a greenhouse. A little boy sees this from his window. Without hesitating, he brings a basket of food to the greenhouse, where he leaves it for the fox. His gift is noticed and the night becomes a garden of new life, nourished by compassion and kindness. Princesse Camcam's cut-paper illustrations, along with the beautiful lighting of the sets she creates, make the experience of looking at these illustrations both touching and transcendent. Their beauty and essential simplicity reflect the beauty of the story. The reader is left charmed by the fox and the child and thoughtful about the emotional lives of both humans and other creatures."--
An act of compassion is given (and repaid) in secret during an icy winter night.

Lovely illustrations tell a simple story of kindness.

Gorgeous and enchanting like a fairy tale. On a snowy night, a bright red fox treks through the forest towards a village, hoping to find a warm place to rest. Upon her approach, she is driven away by the cruel villagers, only finding reprieve when she comes across a greenhouse. In the main house, a young boy stirs at her arrival, and goes to investigate, discovering that the fox has given birth. The boy decides to leave a basket for them. To return this act of kindness, the foxes enter the boy's room the next day, leaving their own gift. The cover gives the impression that these are screenshots of an animated work when in fact they are photos of finely detailed illustrations, cut out and posed to form multiple layers and even 3D art. They not only look incredibly stunning, but they impart a great deal as well. The silence that pervades this wordless book is the perfect backdrop for a cold winter's night, which stands in contrast to the warm-hearted feelings brought about by the gestures in the later half. There is a story, but it is the atmosphere and mood which plays the leading role. We can't help but feel sympathy for the fox, then some amount of pride and joy from the interaction that occurs between her and the boy. Very few author's can achieve such storytelling even with words on their side, yet, here is one that has done it without them.

Magical - I love that author used cut paper models and lighting to illustrate this wordless story.
