Some Arrested Development is better than no Arrested Development, but they never reached the heights of Season 1-2 again. There's nothing here at the level of Tobias-monster destroying the model village in front of the Japanese Investors, or the family chicken dance ("have any of you ever seen a chicken?") or the shocking and funny moment when Lucille 1 lets Buster roll into a lake in the car. It's all like...hmm...the third cup of tea made from the same tea bag. It's still tea, you can tell, but it has not nearly the punch of that first cup.

They do a Roshomon thing here, and you do admire the convoluted structure of that, but it doesn't make it more funny. It's not a belly laugh, it's an intellectual response: yes, that was rather clever, particularly in view of the fact it was released all at once for binge viewing (as we watch it as library patrons).

They out arrested and out developed themselves !!! Genius , sheer chaotic and exuberant genius !!!

Anyone who was a fan of the original show and has half a brain will enjoy this resurrection of a uniquely funny program. Each episode shows the latest family "development" from the perspective of a different key character. The writing is as sharp as ever. Watch for several guest appearances. The perfect DVD to binge watch. Can only hope this is followed up with another season.

Not even remotely as funny as it was before being cancelled and brought back. I've been following the writer's attempts at a screenplay and feel that if this is his best work he's all tapped out. Another writer is needed. :(
