Why did Nina just automatically love Finn? There was absolutely no reason he saved her, kisses her once and then she’s head over heels and only troubled by the fact that she’s kissing other peoples boyfriends that are possessed by Finn for like 5 minutes. The story was interesting but the romance was stupid.

This was my Valentine Blind Date book. Pretty brutal for me, I finished it, but through clenched teeth and stopping many times. Not something I would normally read though. Not for younger kids!

I love this book! After Chapter One I was hooked. The characters are awesome with great personalities. I loved the plot and main scheme of this book. I haven't read anything quite like it before. There are great twist and some cliffhangers but this book does not disappoint!

If you like religious and/or dystopian horror, you will EAT THIS BOOK ALIVE and go looking for more. (Luckily there is now a book two.)

Insanely well-written fiction, with amazing world-building, that manages to be a killer novel but also brings in themes of reproductive rights, body agency, and other social topics.

Also, I didn't see some of the twists coming, which for me, is a rare treat.

fingers crossed that this becomes a longer series!

The writing is bang-on, creating high tension and general feeling of dread, violence and wrongness in the town of New Temperance.

Nina is an awesome protagonist despite being one of those who take responsibility for everything herself, whether its required or not. Finn is open and cheeky and I love him for it.
