Add a CommentNo doubt, you can surely understand my surprise and shock to find out (while reading Marvin Gaye's bio) that he (at the age of 44) was, indeed, shot down dead (while living with his parents) by his own father (who, ironically, was a minister).... Yes. That was a real shockeroo!
Born (1939) in Washington, DC, Marvin Gaye's singing career really began to take shape in 1961.
Gaye, a very versatile vocalist (whose forte was singing Rhythm & Blues and Soul), had a vocal range of 3 octaves. He is often credited as being an artist who contributed greatly to the "Motown Sound" of the 1960's and 70's.
This "Best Of" compilation is a 2-disc set which contains 46 tracks in all.... (*Watch music video*)
