One of Robinson's best novellas is published here along with a somewhat obtuse essay on historical causation and an interview with the author. Robinson's story is an alternate history take on the bombing of Hiroshima. What if one of the airmen had the moral courage to say no to such an unprecedented instantaneous massacre?
