I remember reading this in Grade 5 literature class (a bit ambitious for 10-year olds, but we managed). Thirty-five years later I've come back to this little book again and enjoyed it immensely. The main characters, young Marcus and his trusty sidekick Esca, are like old friends. A great adventure story set north of Hadrian's Wall. The narrator his a great voice and brings Ms. Sutcliff's words to life. Highly recommended.
