One single mom. One chaotic family. One quirky stranger. One irresistible love story from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Giver of Stars
Suppose your life sucks. A lot. Your husband has done a vanishing act, your teenage stepson is being bullied, and your math whiz daughter has a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that you can't afford to pay for. That's Jess's life in a nutshell—until an unexpected knight in shining armor offers to rescue them. Only Jess's knight turns out to be Geeky Ed, the obnoxious tech millionaire whose vacation home she happens to clean. But Ed has big problems of his own, and driving the dysfunctional family to the Math Olympiad feels like his first unselfish act in ages . . . maybe ever.
One Plus One is Jojo Moyes at her astounding best. You'll laugh, you'll weep, and when you flip the last page, you'll want to start all over again.
A good easy read. Good things come to good people eventually. Entertaining characters in this book. Ed a computer geek, Jess divorced mother of a daughter Tanze and a step son Nicky both in their teens and the beloved dog Norman. I like the way JoJo writes and makes you feel like you know her characters.
Excellent! Lovable characters with quirks, some laughs, some tears, some sex, a great dog ... I read it one go, far into the night. I just love it when I get a book good enough to do that!
This book takes you through a roller coaster of tragic-turned-quirky events. It's as if Moyes never runs out of tragic, how-is-that-even-possible, events and yet it keeps you glued because no matter how wrong it turns out, everything seems to have a silver lining. Loved this book! Currently on withdrawals.
This was my second “road trip” with the quirky bunch of misfits in ONE PLUS ONE, but I enjoyed this book as much as I had when I first read it almost 2 years ago. Yes, the story is kind of a modern day fairy tale, full of romantic comedy cliches, but it works. Author Jojo Moyes skillfully creates 4 engaging, believable characters (Jess, Ed, Nicky, and Tanzie) and in alternating chapters, each one relates the story from his/her own perspective. This narrative style adds a rich depth to the plot line. Like real life, ONE PLUS ONE has its moments of humor, love, heartache, and sadness, but ultimately it is a story of hope and family. With Moyes' bestseller, ME BEFORE YOU, now released as a major motion picture, can a film adaptation of ONE PLUS ONE be far behind?
Everything seems to go wrong for Jess, her two kids, and a large slobbery dog, trying to survive bullies, two jobs, and a genius for a daughter. You would think that life has her beaten but, with a little help from a friend, she "sorts it all out"!

Had looked so forward to this and just can't get into it.
Happy tears on this one. Really, really enjoyed the story and loved the characters.

I don't know if I'm biased, but I haven't met and read a Moyes book that I've rated less than 5 stars yet. You can't go wrong!
Loved it!
