This movie had potential but was not executed well. It focuses on family members' flaws, but instead of showing them, it glosses over them, so everyone seems great. The romance is unrealistic, so it ends up being a so-so rom-com. Still I enjoyed parts of it quite a bit.

Grandma introduces her grandchildren to smoking pot, her grow cellar, her delivery route, and howlin' at the moon, while her uptight daughter carries the burden of being the responsible one. There's some healing/reconnection at the end, but the occasionally loopy charm of the story couldn't make up for an unrealistic Woodstock (upstate New York) still hanging on to the 60s.

I didn't have high hopes for this movie, but was pleasantly surprised. Gentle fun is poked at the still hippy dippy grandma and her crystals and women's circle, the uptight NYC attorney mom, and the righteously vegan daughter but all in all everyone gets an equally fair shake. There is humor, genuine affection, music, and a curiously accurate feeling to the Woodstock environment. Hollywood has done a lot worse with this kind of material.

I agree with hagrid46. This was a fun movie. Jane was perfect in the role. It was easy to watch and a break from the stress of the week. I've read many bad reviews - they are totally unfounded. This is light-hearted fun in an idyllic setting...perfect! Wish there were more movies like this one to watch :).

Jane Fonda as a grandmother in a goofy "hippie" role. Guess she wanted to do some acting but she really needs better scripts. A predictable story with an predictable ending. Not terrible.

Can the values of modern New York City and hippy Woodstock mesh? A daughter has been estranged from her mother for 20 years. But when her marriage is ending, she takes her two teenagers and heads to her mother in Woodstock. This Woodstock still has hippies, demonstrations against the war, full moon women's circles, self-sufficient living, all things that the daughter grew up with and fled. Will she and her mother reconcile? There's even a bit about GMO seeds and farming. In spite of being a bit too predictable, this film is entertaining and educational. I enjoyed it.

This was fun. Jane Fonda as the full rip hippie, her lawyer daughter disowning her for about 18 years until her husband wants a divorce and her two grandchildren a teenage grandson and granddaughter are the main characters. I think this role was made for Ms Fonda. She was so good in it . It is a human story, told in the setting of Woodstock many years after the event but with still a lot of activist and off the grid types of personalities. If you want some old fashioned fun this might be it.

Ok Rom-Com. Poor family values and morals displayed flippantly. Serious problems dealt with sugary sweet and easily. The normal trappings of a rom-com with a talented cast and an interesting location.

As someone who was raised in the 60’s, I could relate to so much of this film and enjoyed it immensely. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I plan to purchase a copy.

Other: Zoning out on pot is presented as normal and desirable; selling pot (illegal in NY) is just another income stream.
