This is certainly not another "Not Without My Daughter", but I throughly enjoyed this book. I believe it is essential to read this book to fully understand the story. As you can easily imagine, the story did not end once Betty and Mahtob were back on American soil so this book provides more closure for those who were curious/concerned like myself. Mahtob does not present anything new or shocking about the past (Aka her childhood and her imprisonment in Iran), rather she focuses on her emotional and psychological feelings following escaping from her father. This book may not be what some are looking for (those looking for more "shock value" or whatever you want to call it), but I wanted to understand Mahtob's struggle after Iran and that is exactly what this book provided.

What a scary and difficult life this girl has been forced o live and how brave of her to write about it.

This is the autobiography of the little girl whose kidnapping by her Iranian father inspired the book "Not Without My Daughter", written by her mother. There was also a feature film starring Sally Fields about it. The girl is now a woman and has come forward to tell her account and memories of the incident and the life she has fought so hard to repeatedly build every time her father would try to get to her. She has overcome the fear and the obstacles her father kept putting in her life and is now at peace, having forgiven her father for his actions and is now able to honor her Persian ancestry. A wonderful read, though heartbreaking at times. Recommended by Linda

For anyone who wondered what happened to the daughter in "Not Without My Daughter," this is Mahtob's autobiographical account of her life, and how she and her mother had to live with the constant fear of her father. A powerful, heart felt biography.

Having read the book "Not without my daughter" and watching the movie it was nice to read how Mahtob's life has been since her abduction. She had many challenges but also found peace and happiness.
