A 2018-2019 Missouri Truman Readers Award preliminary nominee (grades 6-8).

Eight years ago, eight-year-old Addie Webster, the daughter of the governor of Virginia, was kidnapped from her home. Now she is back, and her father is the President. She says she escaped from the off-grid, right-wing couple that held her captive, and she is allowed to rejoin her family in the White House, but something about her story doesn't add up.

This was the second book I have read recently in which a kidnapped girl returns home unexpectedly years later, and I have to say that this one was a lot more fun. It is an exciting, compelling read.
