This book describes Alex Cross's Christmas which he had planned to spend with his family. Unfortunately he is first called out on a hostage situation and immediately on a potential terrorist attack. Cross's Psychology background makes him more than just a cop and makes for interesting reading. Cross's humanity is also very charming.
Like this book and this author a lot,
Reading "Merry Christmas, Alex Cross," you will find drama, heartbreak, and even a few miracles along the way. You will be on the edge of your seat as Alex is forced to make the difficult decision of spending time with his family, or going out into the frosty Christmas Eve night to save some hostages or something.
Snuggle up with a hot cup of cocoa and read this book together with your kids, you won't regret it.
3 stars
Basically this is two short stories held together by the fact that it is Christmas. Not much of a plot and the action was predictable.
The book is short and action is non-stop, but that's why it's hard to realize that there is very little plot. One would think that Detective Cross is the only profiler, psychologist, or detective working in DC or liaising with the FBI since he simply can't say "no" when they call him
It can be said that yes this is a rushed novel with not as much substance as most of his novels have had. It is on the other hand, a separate novel not a complete part of the series, although i dont quite know why since it is an alex cross novel.
I reallyi cannot believe people read this garbage, although it does have the most minimalist sentence structure possible? Which is probably why the only ones I've ever observed reading him in public were the lowest mental grade Boeing employees who believe inner-office gossip to be the endall and beall of life!
ditto what Robert B West said
Another Patterson book that could be a B- movie. With his experience in writing books, he could have pulled this one together over the weekend! There were two incidents and both were resolved without too much intrigue. Also, the print was larger than normal so the 300+ pages could have dwindled down to 200+ quite easily. He's coasting on his reputation.
