A remarkable thought provoking short book- once past the notion of why -oh why- spend three hours looking at your face. New notions abound....
Do NOT overlook the latter part- mise en abyme!

This tiny book is in itself a bit meditative. I loved "A Tale for the Time Being" (fiction) by this author, and it was wonderful to get to know her better in this brief, interesting little book.

A wonderful meditation on the Zen koan "what did your face look like before your parents were born," as the author gazes at her own reflection for 3 hours.
