After the shocking developments at the end of season 5 -- including Jon Snow's bloody fate at the hands of Castle Black mutineers, Daenerys' near-demise at the fighting pits of Meereen, and Cersei's public humiliation in the streets of King's Landing -- survivors from all parts of Westeros and Essos regroup to press forward, inexorably, towards their uncertain individual fates. Familiar faces will forge new alliances to bolster their strategic chances at survival, while new characters will emerge to challenge the balance of power in the east, west, north and south.

Ups and downs here, as usual. I thought the Battle of the Bastards was good, but not as awesome as everyone makes it out to be - a little too "epically-aimed" if you ask me. And I really don't like the direction Arya went with the whole many-faced god thing. The first few seasons, she was so great, and then this whole story, I thought drug her down to pretty boring. She gets better again next season though!

Possibly the best season of GoT yet released.

There is some truth to Amoby's comment below. Many of the characters are despicable or carry personality traits you wouldn't wish on your pet lizard. It is nonetheless compelling television with shocking surprises, brutal revenge, assassinations, and an impending collision of massive epic proportions.

Many of the best HBO series over the years had flawed characters as well, e.g. The Wire or The Sopranos.

I realized I only like about 3 characters on this show and Im just watching to see all the rest of the cast kill each other.

Brutal! Epic, amazing, fantastic and excellently executed of course, but brutal for sure.

CAUTION: Final disc is damaged making much of the final two episodes unwatchable! Hard words for patrons who fail to ensure the safe keeping of precious public resources. Please be more careful.

I am glad I stuck to it and finished watching it. It was sometimes brutal to watch and had to close my eyes through some parts but I am glad I lived through it. I am looking forward to the next two seasons.

Excellent season. Loving Arya and Sansa Stark. Daernys of course is always a winner. Can't wait for next season!
