Born on the doomed planet Krypton, Kara Zor-El escaped at the same time as her cousin, Superman, but didn't arrive on Earth until years later after being lost. Raised by her adopted family, the Danvers, Kara grew up in the shadow of her foster sister, Alex, and learned to hide the phenomenal powers she shares with her famous cousin. Kara has spent so many years trying to fit in that she forgot to ever stand out.

Fun campy, decently acted superhero romp for the 20-something crowd. Unfortunately, it is incredibly preachy with politics. So if you want a bunch of liberal virtue signalling in your campy superhero romp, this is for you! Unfortunately, it was just too preachy for me. Which is tough to do - I LOVED The West Wing. This show just hammered you over the head with their political preaching about every other episode once they really got into the grove of Season 1. It also troubled me that they took a heterosexual female character and showed how you would groom a woman to convert her to being a lesbian. I don't think the idea of grooming someone to convert their sexual orientation is OK, regardless of which "direction" you show it. That pretty much ruined it for me.

The TV Show "Supergirl" networked by: The CW Television Network is a superhero/action television series. Kara Zor-El (Played by: Melissa Benoist) is a 12 year old girl who got sent away from her home planet of krypton to Earth as their planet was about to be destroyed. She was sent to protect her younger cousin Kal-El but she got trapped somewhere else for 12 years. Kara still had the body of a twelve year old but was 24 years old. Kal- El found her and brought her back to Earth, where she was the adopted by the Danvers family. She hid her powers for a long time until her adoptive sister was in need of her help. She then became super girl as he powers had already been revealed. The first season is about her trying to protect earth from the rouge aliens who were sentenced to prison by Kara's mother back on krypton, and who have now escaped on earth.i give this show a 3.8/5 @flarrow_s of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

A strong female role-model? Anti-sexism? Nerdy and cute? Compelling storylines and characters? Supergirl has it all! Heck, it even makes Jimmy Olsen, someone who is usually insufferable, rather charming and likable.

This is a fun superhero series full of Girl Power! Calista Flockhart is fabulous as the powerful and prickly Cat Grant. Looking forward to the next season.

Pilot episode was good and the series went down hill from there. Watched the first disc with sinking hope for an exciting super hero program but got a teen soap opera instead. What little special effects were low grade and action scenes puny. As with "Flash 2015", cut my losses: eject and return to the library.

It is fun but it is a bit disappointing. It recycles too many of the Superman stories, the worst being "For the Girl who has Everything". It even takes over some of Superman's Rogue Gallery. The secret identity is also a joke. Major plot hole is the number of Kryptonians. The visual effect is good though. Interesting point: Kara Zor-El and Barry Allen were the two killed in Crisis.

Fantastic! Very well done. It is upbeat and positive like The Flash television show. I like Supergirl's uniform. All the supporting cast is wonderful. I don't have any complaints.
