A bit of unnecessary Hollywood type melodrama in a couple of places which I found interrupted the flow of the story, something Australian cinema normally avoids.

Solid plot and really moving story. Loveable characters and great shots of Australia. Flawless.

This movie is a hidden gem. One of the few movies that I really cared about the characters. A movie about a very serious topic done with plenty of humor and heartfelt drama. I had only ever seen one of the actors previously (the Doctor) so that helped to get me totally involved in the story. All the actors did a fantastic job of playing their roles and made you feel like these are real people that you couldn't help rooting for.

Charming story of a taxi driver dying of cancer, his loud aborigine neighbor who each morning brings him breakfast, the chums at the local pub. As Australia introduces euthanasia, the taxi driver heads to Darwin to be the first. Along the way are a number of characters that join in the ride, while at home those he has left realize what the old man means to them. A good story of character, belonging, loving, caring, euthanasia and home. This is a diamond in the rough.

Great portrait about real people and real issues like friendship, loneliness, euthanasia, and prejudice with a backdrop of rural Australia. Fine acting and unusual locations enliven this sweet and affecting story.

Have no idea what language this is in. Had no choice except for English sub titles. Can't see them to read so only made 2 mins and shut it off.
