This falls short of my favorite Crowded House album, Woodface, but it's still great, especially for a debut. The band is considered a one-hit wonder for "Don't Dream It's Over," included here, but there are many excellent songs where that came from.
The debut album from the Aussie/Kiwi pop band Crowded House and probably their best known, thanks to the great single "Don't Dream It's Over." It'd be tempting to write them off as a one hit wonder, but it's a solid album and they followed it up with a few more good one. I think the band is still around, although original member Paul Hester is dead. Leader Neil Finn was previously in the Kiwi band Split Enz. Produced by Mitchell Froom, who also worked with Los Lobos, Elvis Costello, and Suzanne Vega. Released in 1986.
