Gunfighter Johnny Fierro is home at last. After years of hunting trouble and gaining a fearsome reputation along the Mexican border, Johnny is trying hard to settle into a new life as a rancher in the Cimarron Valley in New Mexico. He's also dealing with living with his family for the first time, adjusting to his uptight father and Harvard-educated brother. This proves hard enough after a life spent as a gun hawk, but his past just won't let him go. Whenever he turns around, something else is there to threaten his chances of making this new life a success. Whether it's gunfighters looking to settle old scores, or bushwhackers who'd like to put a bullet in his back, there's always someone out to get him. The neighbors-and maybe his father too- want him gone or dead. Until lawless drifters bring trouble to Cimarron, threatening the town's peace. Then the neighbors want to hire Fierro, want to hide behind his gun. When the drifters attack a woman in town, Johnny knows he's the only one who can stop them- but at what cost?
