This book will appeal to all readers who love learning about other cultures and who are interested in the Silk Road. The author, Hildi Kang, is brilliant at writing an adventure story rich with detail. She strings together most creatively powerful description, leaving the reader with a vivid image of each scene. My children hung on every word and couldn't wait to read the next chapter. Hence, they have gone on to be very interested in the subject matter to explore the history of Marco Polo's travels in China. We hope Kang will write a sequel to this book! She is a very gifted writer.
