Robert Mitchum and Sarah Miles star in a tender and moving story of love, passion and commitment in a small village set against the out-sized canvas of the Irish Revolution. Kirrary, Ireland. 1916. In a stark coastal village, Rosy (Miles), the young wife of the local schoolmaster (Mitchum) meets a British officer (Christopher Jones) while working in her father's pub.
