Add a CommentInsightful journey of an American pastor who was imprisoned in North Korea for two years. It shows how the status of the North Koreans were not much better than the pastor. He had to plant his own food in his labor camp, but his guards during their "off duty" time also had to work in their own fields for their food--with hand-held tools. North Koreans plow snow by hand with snow shovels.
Fascinating look at a U.S. citizen captured and held very recently by the North Korean government. This book provides a lot of insight into North Korean history and how and why the North Koreans believe as they do and how they view the West. It is also a strong testament to Mr. Bae's Christian faith to survive for over two years in captivity.
