Book 4 (last)

Fourth and final book in the compelling juvenile fantasy/horror series, “The Thickety.” This series focuses on witchcraft, both good and evil, with constant tension and a complex, ever-changing plot.

Kara, her young brother, Taff, and her friend, Lucas, are on the run from the monstrous witch, Rygoth, who seems bent on worldwide destruction. In this world, young girls looking for power are first entranced and then enslaved by grimoires, books of magic spells which eventually lead to the death of the user. Rygoth has learned how to force the grimoires to be under her power. Kara is one of the few who can stand against Rygoth, because Kara is the exception who can do magic without a grimoire. But she is only 14 years old and Rygoth has been alive for more than a thousand years. Kara has allies, of course. But every bit of magic she does erases one of her memories. Big magic can delete a LOT of memories.
Rygoth is seeking the scattered parts of the very first grimoire, called the Vulkera. If she can piece it together once more, she will be unstoppable.
This series is a fast read, because the intensity rarely lets up. Whenever you think you know where the books are going, the author pulls out a surprise, so you can never get comfortable. The books are aimed at about 6th-8th grade. They must be read in order.

Fantastic book, fantastic series! Gripping from the very first page until the last.

I suggested this, and every single day I've been on to see if they ordered it. I didn't want to be troubled by being #123 in line when I suggested it in the first place again. It paid off! I was amazed when just yesterday I saw it in the catalogue. And with no holds on it, too!
These books are amazing. -Feb 23, 2017
