Finally got around to reading this book, and if you can get the audiobook, it will be even better! Fans of Wonder Woman, if you loved the movie then you will love this backstory. If you have not seen the movie read this anyways. Great elements in the story that shows the growth of Diana as she goes through her journey to prove herself to her sisters. Worth a read! Check it out now!

The book Wonder Woman Warbringer is about Wonder Woman aka Diana, who has superior abilities than a normal human. Diana sees a plane crash on her island and saves a girl names Alia who she finds out is a warbringer. She goes to the oracle for guidance and finds out that if she takes Alia to the spring and cleanses her that she will be stripped of her power to bring war and no one else will bare it either, but she must go through many obstacles, like people wanting to kill Alia because of her power and even the gods are trying to stop her, well the bad ones anyways. Will she make it or will war havoc among the humans?
I really enjoyed this book, it was very interesting and even though it was a serious plot there was a lot of humor in it, like my favorite part of Diana being clueless and when Alia shouts “shotgun” Diana throws her to the ground to protect her because she doesn't know that “shotgun” is a figure of speech. I haven’t read other books by this author but I would want to because she did an amazing job with this book.
I think anyone would enjoy this book but mostly young adults I believe because of the humor and the fact that the characters are all young adults also so the reader can relate to them. If you like superhero books, you would enjoy this because Wonder Woman is a superhero. So I HIGHLY recommend this book it's such a good read.

A fresh take on Wonder Woman's story with modern and mythical elements

Wonder Woman has gotten all the fame this year, and so has Leigh Bardugo for her book ‘Six of Crows’. So it was no surprise that the two would meet and create a stellar superhero book that combined YA and all the DC fun! Startling, funny and surprising all in one, I enjoyed reading this book immensely. Relationships and deceptions were all crafted out perfectly in accordance with the timeline and setting of the book, and in a way I felt like I was getting everything that the movie missed. Alia was a considerably average heroine, though, but her African-American heritage provided a pleasant diversity. Theo, Nim and Jason were wonderful supporting roles that made me wonder if this will be an inspiration for those who are creating a sequel to the Wonder Woman franchise! Rating 3/5

I am personally a bit more of a Marvel fan than a DC one, but this book looked too good not to read. (I also don't mind Wonder Woman so...) Anyways, there was a lot of Greek mythology and modern twists to this story. I enjoyed the parallels between the Amazons (and Diana) and Alia, descendant of a line of woman that are destined to bring war), in the current 21st century. The initiative taken by the characters was inspiring to read about, as was the style of this author. I do recommend all her other ones (Six of Crows, etc), and I can't wait for the next superhero novel!! @Siri of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library

Wonder Woman is my favorite superhero, so I was thrilled to see this novel come out in the DC Icons series and Leigh Bardugo did a first rate job in bringing her to life as a young woman. Diana's bond with Alia was touching and genuine and kept the two of them in the fight even through a MAJOR plot twist. I also enjoyed seeing Diana visit NYC and her tips to the guy and his friends on the subway made for one of my favorite scenes. Even readers who did not know they were into Wonder Woman will appreciate this novel with its Percy Jackson similarities. Looking forward to Catwoman!

It's teenage Wonder Woman in a "subverting classical mythology" YA read. It is definitely plot driven, but Bardugo does a great job with the writing as well. There were a couple of points where I wanted to check out because it started to feel like a typical YA Romance (which is not my particular favorite of Diana of Themyscira), but I'm glad I stuck with it - appearances in this book are not always what they seem.

I recommend for WW fans, YA fans, and explosion junkies alike.

Soooooo your mileage may vary, but I loved this story. Things that made it perfect for me:
1. It's about found family (MY FAVORITE)
2. Gals being pals (ALSO MY FAVORITE)
3. Super-powered fights (I like explosions in my stories)
4. Diverse cast of characters (I loved Alia and her friends)

Things that make it good for other readers too:
1. Fast paced and cinematic storytelling
2. Mixing new characters in with canon faves
3. Gals being pals (EVERYONE'S FAVORITE)

I think it does a good job of giving us iconic Wonder Woman stuff and blending that with a story that doesn't detract from canon and still provides really interesting new characters that could carry a story on their own. You should try it!
