Nicholas Angel is the finest cop London has to offer. He has an arrest record that is higher than any other officer on the force. As a result, Angel's superiors send him to a place where his talents won't be quite so obvious. They send him to the sleepy and seemingly crime-free village of Sandford. He is partnered with the well-meaning but overeager police officer Danny Butterman, who is the son of the police chief. Danny is a huge action movie fan and believes this may be his chance to experience the life of gunfights and car chases. However, as a series of grisly accidents rocks the village, Angel is convinced that Sandford is not what it seems and as the intrigue deepens, Danny's dreams of explosive, high-octane, car-chasing, gunfighting, all-out action seem more and more like a reality.

Outrages, bizarre, way too long, 2 hours. A shoot-em up blow-em up movie.

This movie satirizes every cop movie trope then takes them all up to the next level. It is a brilliant parody filled with hilarious moments and characters. The plot is also a strong point of the movie, giving us a thrilling mystery with a crazy satisfying ending. It is defiantly one of the best action movies ever made and is worth a watch.

Hilarious, goofy/smart fun! This is one of those rare gems that both my action-loving husband and my quirky-witty-banter-loving self enjoy together. Great for a date night in.

Excellent movie, and one of my new favorites. Have not yet seen the other films in Edgar Wright's "Three Flavors Cornetto Trilogy", but after seeing this film, I definitely plan to. This is a smart satire of the 'buddy cop action comedy' films of the 80s and 90s, and it spoofs the genre well, but is a really great acton comedy on its own too. The characters are well-written and developed, and the relationship that ultimately blossoms between Pegg and Frost's seemingly opposite characters is nice. There's not a lot of action until the last half of the film, but when you get to the last half, oh man. The final shootout is amazing, and the scale and pacing of it is excellent. Lots of well-made, slickly edited action scenes, and the comedy moments made me laugh out loud as well. Also, I have to commune ton the cinematography, which is usually good in British stuff, and it's the same here, really top-notch. All in all, I really love this film, and you haven't seen it , and you are a fan of such films, you should really watch it, at least once.

Though it's been said already, I still think I should let anyone who cares know, there is some graphic violence and pretty strong language in this film. Bloody, somewhat disturbing images, and over 10 uses of the f-word, as well as 1 use of c*nt.

Hilarious... gets funnier every time.
A snarky rif on the "perfect" English village lifestyle.
Yes, it is gory...all the three of that particular Simon Pegg series have gross scenes, but are very funny (especially the zombie one).

At the beginning, the hilarious litany of heroics by the Simon Pegg character and the cameos (Bill Nighy, Steve Coogan, Martin Freeman and Cate Blanchett) gave hope for a super duper fun ride. Unfortunately not so, just a regular fun ride that soon degenerated into a unfunny sinister business. Watched Pegg in the "Terminal 2018" and he was not funny there either but okay in the rom-com "Man Up 2015.)

"Hot Fuzz" of the "Three Flavours Cornetto" trilogy is my favorite of the bunch. Everything from the writing to the cinematography is top-notch. All the actors do a fantastic job, and Simon Pegg/Nick Frost as an acting duo are the modern day Laurel and Hardy. This movie also just gets better each time you watch it, so do yourself a favor and give it another go.

Basics of the film? It's your basic shoot-em-up cop film (set in an idyllic English village). It knows it, and it has a ton of fun with it.

***Warning*** the deaths are pretty gruesome. Probably my only fault with the movie as I'm squeamish of such things.

After being a respectable police officer in his former town, Nicholas Angel is saddened after being moved to a slower paced town with a laughable police force. However, after a series of gruesome murders occur in this small town, Nicholas is determined to find the cause. This movie is very similar to Shaun of the Dead, with the same director, actors, and a similar storyline. The movie is comedic, well directed, and has a realistic script. I would rate this movie 4.5/5 stars and recommend it to lover’s of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost since it pays homage to these actors. @The_Reviewer of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library.

Just an OK movie, if you have nothing better to do go ahead and watch it. I almost turned it off half way through but out of curiosity I stayed to the end.
