Add a CommentThis is a 1993 prison-break-and-escape drama directed by Clint Eastwood.
The prisoner (Kevin Costner) on the run befriends an 8-year-old boy (T.J. Lowther), and ends up embarking on a road trip.
Eastwood co-stars as a Texas Ranger in pursuit of the convict.
Far from an ordinary prison-break-and-escape drama, it has a peculiar sense of humor and an emotionally satisfied ending, albeit the death of the friendly-yet-cruel escaped prisoner.
It is one of the finest Eastwood's works.
It is worth a look, showing the wrongs civilians and law personnel will go to when they base their beliefs on their individual views of right and wrong, and have the power to persuade decisions to be made that are not warranted.
Walked out on this movie when it was first released, due to an attempted child molestation scene (cut short on the dvd). Gave it this 2nd chance, but it is still Clint Eastwood's oddest film.
My favorite Clint Eastwood directed film. It really tugs at your heart-strings --and I'm a boxer.
