Your Black Friend and Other Strangers is a collection of culturally charged comics by cartoonist Ben Passmore. Passmore masterfully tackles comics about race, gentrification, the prison system, online dating, gross punks, bad street art, kung fu movie references, beating up God, and lots of other grown-up stuff with refreshing doses of humor and lived relatability.

A great introspective and personal collection of comics about toxic masculinity, intersectionality, blackness and anarchy. The first comic in the collection "Your black friend" really hit home for me, and was like a mirror into my own life.

I was also here for the occasional digs at the myopic hotep/black capitalist mentalities that some black people try to express their identity through. The author drives home the ways in which those mentalities reproduce pro-whiteness through tacky performative blackness.
