Buddhist monk Wayan Bagus lost his island of solitude and wants to get it back. The island was about two hundred miles northeast of Samoa. It had a mountain, beaches, a rain forest, and a volcano. And now it's gone. Poof! Vanished without a trace. Brilliant and boyishly charming Emerson Knight likes nothing better than solving an unsolvable, improbable mystery. And finding a missing island is better than Christmas morning in the Knight household. When clues lead to a dark and sinister secret that is being guarded by the National Park Service, Emerson will need to assemble a crack team for help. Since a crack team isn't available, he enlists Riley Moon and his cousin Vernon. Riley Moon has a Harvard business degree and can shoot the eyes out of a grasshopper at fifty feet, but she can't figure out how to escape the vortex of Emerson Knight's odd life. Vernon has been Emerson's loyal and enthusiastic partner in crime since childhood. He now lives in an RV behind Emerson's house. Together, this ragtag, mismatched trio will embark on a worldwide investigation that will expose a conspiracy one hundred years in the making.

I love the numbered Stephanie Plum books, the unnumbered ones not so much. This book I hated; really hated. I drug myself through 60 pages of what was apparently supposed to be witty repartee, but was stupid things a 16-year-old would cringe to say because it is so immature. And really???? It is almost 2020, written just before the Me Two Movement, and this book is suggesting that poor little girls should just go ahead and sleep with their rich bosses? Disgusting.

I was hooked. It was fast and enjoyable. The storyline was great but i mostly just love the interactions between Knight and Moon, it's not only interesting but really comical.

I am a fan of Evanovich and always laugh my way through her Stephanie Plum books. This one made me laugh too, many times, and twice bringing me to tears I was laughing so hard. I almost dumped it after about 15 pages when I realized the characters were way out there (beyond Plum and Lulu) and the story line improbable. But I stayed with it because the interactions between Knight and Moon were funny, sometimes really funny. Plus you get the extra added attraction of two more really strange characters joining the 'team' and a four way dialogue that was even funnier. So if you want a ridiculous, fun read, this book will give it to you. Enjoy!

I loved it! It was exciting as well as educational...I'd never heard of lava tubes and then shortly after reading the book, I saw on the news that there is a lava tube here in Washington.

BORING BOOK! The characters are so flat. I can't believe Evanovich wrote this.
