I love this book, It's way better than I thought it would be

Have I mentioned before that I love Mary E. Pearson's writing? Because I love Mary E. Pearson's writing. It's stunning, the words so expertly chosen for every sentence and every paragraph. It's extremely inspirational and so lovely to read.

So. This book. We're back in the world of the Remnant Chronicles, with another smart-ass boy and tough-as-nails girl. I was destined to love Kazi and Jase, and I truly, truly did.

Kazi of Brightmist is Rahtan, and her tragic backstory, coupled with the equal measures of snark and her charm in her arsenal made her a character that I loved almost immediately. She has made the most of what the world has dealt her, and something good is dropped into her lap/cornered at the edge of her knife (*cough* a pretty boy *cough*) in Jase Ballenger, the new Patrei of the Ballenger clan. He matches her in wit, and their dynamic had me swooning.

The only reason I leave a star off of this one is because there is so. Much. Detail. In the first part of this book that it felt almost isolating. I was questioning if I was missing things from the ending of the Remnant Chronicles, but I didn't read those very long ago and I know I wasn't. There is just a lot left unsaid, that I guess Kazi knows that we are meant to find out later, and that left me scratching my head and feeling like I wasn't reading closely enough somehow. I wanted to be so into this world that I forgot I lived in the real one, and the way the details are kind of sparingly given jarred me out of the story because I was wondering whether I had missed something or if I was just supposed to take it on faith that the answers were coming.

The answers did come by the end, with just enough mystery remaining for me to wait impatiently for the next book. I adored the ending, and I flew through the last 200 pages. Despite wanting a little bit more as the story went along, instead of having to wait for it all at the end, I can't wait to see what is in store for these characters in their adventures to come.

This book was so amazing! i loved every word and every detail! I literally could not set down this book! i was like WOW! I loved how when I think that everything, every lie, every truth is revealed, another comes poping up! i also loved the bits of romance! it made me blush! I think Kazi is such a wonderful character! Jace is a wonderfull character as well! but my all time character was Synove and Mason! i loved how Synove was like ''lets watch Masons muscles just for a little bit longer'' i was like ''that's so me!'' overall such a great book!

I have so many books like this one if you totally LOVED this book! Go check out my lists by pressing FantasyFox! you will be amazed!

This book!

FINALLY we have a male and female duo that both are strong and smart. They witty yet secretive. I am so relieved that neither of the main characters were stupid naive people who kept battling within themselves. They have their own reasons to do what they have to and they keep to that. Being forced together and the things that they do are a way to meet their ends. One doesn't completely change their focus for "love". Love isn't even a main subject in the book. Its more about dedication, family, and understanding that in life you have to do things even if you don't want to. That if you give your word that you need to follow through even if variables change and when those variables change it is NOT okay to go back on your promises just because you decided that you had a change of mind.

This book is awesome! If you haven't picked it up and read it you should, you will be sucked into a world that you don't want to come out of.

This was a book that I read and the wanted to pick up and read again... 5 minutes after finishing it.... and I did! The second time around you understand things a little more and you catch a glimpse of the details that you may have missed the first time, or perhaps those details mean just a little bit more to you.

Can't wait for the second installment.

A fun beginning to a new series in Pearson’s Remnant universe. Lots of romance and adventure.

This novel does indeed stand alone from the others in the Remnant Chronicles, which I loved. It very much lives up to the rest of the series for me. It was just as intricate and suspenseful as the other books. I would have loved to have had more of the characters from the previous books, but it was nice to get a glimpse of their lives several years later. But by the end of the book, I was just as attached to Kazi and Jase as I had been to Lia and Jaxon. If you like fantasy/romance with lots of twists and turns, this is a great book that may have you going back to the beginning to get the back story of the other kingdoms.

Took a few chapters to get into it but well worth persisting.

A Must-Read Young Adult pick. "Kiss of Deception" fans should clamor to get on the holds list for this stunning new adventure set in the kingdoms of the Remnant.

It's hard to describe how much I enjoyed this book! Pearson is a fantastic, amazingly talented author with a skill for deftly weaving world-building and emotion into a book otherwise appealing in its' action and romance. Although the book incorporates fierce and powerful female characters, it also somehow has the ability to honor the masculinity and femininity of all its' characters. This combination makes for an empowering and practical foundation of the story. Picking up several years after the Great Battle that our Kiss of Deception's heroine, Lia, led, Dance of Thieves introduces to a trio of young Rahtan on their first solo mission. These young women have ghosts of their own, but they are driven to accomplish the task the Queen has set out for them: to capture a notorious criminal that has been in hiding for years. Yet Kazi, their leader, finds herself in a precarious position when she is unexpectedly bound to the fate of Jase, the man who stands in the way of their success. With both Kazi and Jase bound to opposing missions, will they find a way to right old wrongs, defeat a reemerging dragon, and safeguard their hearts? A thrilling addition to Lia's universe - I am so excited for the sequel!

I am glad that I read the Remnant Chronicles, all three of that series where awesome! Dance of Thieves picks up with several characters that where in the Remnant Chronicles. Being just children in the Chronicles series they are young adults now .Kazi, Wren and Synove' are strong and courageous characters.
I enjoyed learning about the back history of the Ballenger kingdom and having Lia and Rafe back in the story was a nice tie in.
Just the right amount of action, high stakes and romance.
Wonderful story and can't wait for Vow of Thieves!
