Our love story is simple. I met a gorgeous woman. We fell in love. We had kids. We moved to the suburbs. We told each other our biggest dreams, and our darkest secrets. And then we got bored. We look like a normal couple. We're your neighbors, the parents of your kid's friend, the acquaintances you keep meaning to get dinner with. We all have our secrets to keeping a marriage alive. Ours just happens to be getting away with murder.

Nice scary book,,,, but lacked mystery. It was kinda predictable I read the first 4 chapters and the last chapter to the book and ended the way I thought.. its a good read just seemed predicatable to me.

I am almost done with this book...I will come back to leave my final thoughts but I must say....

60 Chapters????!!! It is a good book but it drags. I almost think the author had to make it longer or something cause it is so long for such a simple plot. I just had to leave that here. I did the audiobook so maybe that made it seem slower to get through but goodness.... I almost didn't finish.

If you like thrillers, go ahead and place this one on hold! This is a 5 star rating from me. Loved this one and cannot wait for Samantha Downing's next book: He Started It!

My Lovely Wife upset me immensely and I almost stopped reading this deranged story. Millicent, the lovely wife, must control everything in the life of her family. Even though she works hard to sell houses, she must still cook and clean and supervise every household task. Her unnamed husband, a tennis teacher, narrates the story. This seemingly normal married couple kill women and frighten the community to believe a serial killer from the past has returned. Of course, the husband only kills one woman, while Millicent kidnaps, tortures, and kills many women. As the story unfolds, Millicent’s fury and anger encroaches on the children. Samantha Downing uses short chapters in the style of James Patterson. As the terror and horror mounts, the reader plows on with the story. So many lessons stand out such as the behavior of the children. Have we turned into such as callous society?

Excellent but it could have been shorter due to alot of repetative scenes

Twisty thrillers about terrible people aren't my usual fare, but I can absolutely see the trainwreck appeal of these stories as I kept reading to see how much more messed-up things would get. Answer: very. Plenty of twists and surprises, some of which I didn't see coming and a couple I did.

This was a very odd story. I've read many odd stories and this is up there in the top 10 of oddest. It held my attention throughout, although it wasn't a very believable plot. I started figuring out what was going on about two/thirds of the way through it which made the end somewhat of a letdown when I found out I was right. I like surprise endings. If one likes odd stories, you may enjoy it.
