Brilliant.I didn't understand the importance of Old Dolio crawling to Melanie until the next day(newborns crawling to mother's breast) and the significance of the amount of the refund until I read a film critic's review.

Tops my list for the worst movie I've seen in recent memory, don't waste your time like I did.

This is an odd movie with a look into people who have struggles but manage somehow to get along. The acting is very good, the story a little uneven, but isn't that life? I'm a fan of director Miranda July so that was the lure for me. Good seeing Debra Winger.

Too weird for us.

This dark comedy is quirky and offbeat. It moves somewhat slowly and I don’t think it’s for everyone but I enjoyed it. Evan Rachel Wood is very compelling in the role of an emotionally starved young woman.

Utterly BRILLIANT! The family of grifters with twisted parents who completely take the FUN out of DYSFUNCTIONAL. Dark comedy with a wit and a discomforting edge rarely achieved in cinema. The cast members really knocked it out of the park! Very clever and wholly original.

Manages hilarity with totally unsympathetic screwy characters you love to hate. Including the masseuse/waitress. All in a completely weird fake world with soap bubbles oozing out from above the false ceiling. Better living through chemistry!

Really pathetic movie, waste of time

When I finished this movie, I thought it was okay. Two weeks later, it's still stuck in the back of my mind and I keep revisiting pieces of it...I think it might have been great, actually?

Like other work from Miranda July, it's saccharine and quirky and cringe-inducing at times. But that's the point - July knows she's making us uncomfortable and she holds us in that space; the emotional equivalent of prolonged eye contact with a stranger. I hate it, and it makes me feel stuff. Like Old Dolio grumbles to Melanie (played by the stunning, utterly talented Gina Rodriguez) "You're making us ALL uncomfortable!"

Kajillionaire holds up a funhouse mirror to our own parent-pleasing tendencies, the experiences of being queer in a society that pits women against each other, the stress and dysfunction of late capitalism, and bodily alienation. Am I reading into it too much? I don't care.

.
Uggggg. Quirky characters are always a symptom of weak writing. Wood lurches around like a caveman and grunts a lot. I could only last 25 minutes. TERRIBLE.
