Add a CommentWow, almost too biting to be funny. Not what I expected from a Tracy/Hepburn film. Great dialogue and some serious moments that are lightened by the Rom-Com format. Tracy & Hepburn were great together. They duplicated their real life familiarity with each other, on screen.
A cutting edge comedy-drama for its time, director George Cukor’s insightful opus (co-written by Ruth Gordon) features an intelligent script with just enough wit to ease the occasional sting. And the trio of leads are in perfect form—Tracy and Hepburn playing the ethically divided lovers while a timorous Holliday provides the explosive lynchpin that not only rocks their personal relationship but challenges the entire judicial system itself. And to think this film is already sixty-six years old!
I like the chemistry between Hepburn & Tracy. I think they're at their best and I like both of their characters in this story
What a fun flick! Katherine Hepburn is wonderful in this, and a little too big for her britches at times! This courtroom drama may be an old black and white, but the theme is timeless.
I highly recommend!
Awesome classic! Katherine at her best. This film is ahead of its time, what chemistry. Can't believe I've never heard of it before.
This was an interesting movie; it was nice to see a strong woman with strong views.
