"The Dude. One cool guy. Who one day comes home to find two thugs have broken in and ruined his favorite carpet--the one that made the room "hang together." Thing is, they did it because he's got the exact same name as one of the richest men in town, Lebowski. But, hey, no problem, he'll get even. At least he'll get someone to pay for a new carpet."--Container.

A crazy but well done movie with excellent dialogue and situations that will make your head spin. Definitely worth the watch.

My favorite movie of all time. I'm not usually the type of person who likes to watch movies over and over again, but this one is different. I never grow tired of the brilliant hilarity.

Thanks to alert on profanity, saved me trouble of ordering it when I wouldn't have watched it anyway.

This movie never gets old. I think this was the second DVD I ever purchased, and I remember begging my friends to give it a chance trying to show it off. Of course, once they saw it they loved it. Everyone does. The comedy. The weirdness. The mystery. The catch phrases. And of course, the dude.

VERY GOOD 1998 Coen Bros. film. Might be first one of theirs I've seen and It was so cleverly written etc. I'll have to be checking out more of their stuff.
I particularly enjoyed John Goodman's acting performance, but everyone did a fine job.
Lots of clever film wrinkles kept me engaged - and I can see how many people enjoy watching it multiple times.

One of those rare films that you can watch repeatedly (I can't say how many times I've seen this film... but it's a lot) and find new things to enjoy each time. Also probably one of the most highly quotable films ever made. Coen Bros at their best.

It doesn't get any better than this. I consider it to be the best Cohen brothers movie ever made. I've probably seen it 30 times now.

A cult classic for a good reason. But like Quentin Tarantino movies, it helps if you're a Coen Brothers fan, to fully appreciate it. Outrageous personalities and situations, some very creative cinematography, and dark quirky humour. Watch it twice. Did you ever see "Fargo"? If you liked that, this is in the same groove.

why is this a cult classic? It seems ad-libbed. The characters played by John Goodman and Steve Buscemi are so annoying.

Fun movie about three friends, a stoner, a typical blustering lying Vietnam vet, and a bucktoothed kibitzer. Fun movie to spill off some of the time you have left before you die.
