It is a great story that tears at your guts and questions humanity. I love diaz and milla and just wish the sex was not so graphic. My question is how can a friend do what she did to milla and how come we readers know who wa sinvolved way before the main character? poignant, rich and very wonderful storytelling I did not want to put the book down. The mystery was fascinationg and the characeters were real with flaws and all. The part where she finds her son just moved me to tears. The ending of this vook made me cry. what a brave woman milla is.

I had to give this book a second read. What can I say?.... it was a superb story, Filled with so much heartache. It sucked me right in and had me crying like a baby....I felt as if I was reading it for the first time. I would have done the same thing Milla did, I never would have given up. Milla is a strong woman and a forced to be reckon with....and Diaz is a man I would love to call my own. LOL!! I highly recommend this book....more so if you are a mom.

Call me sexist - I'm always a little concerned with a female author writing suspense because more often than not the female lead character is too much of a suck and there ends up being waaaaaay to much romance. But I was pleasantly surprised with this book. It kept my interest - a good story - and some very graphic sex scenes don't hurt. I would read more of hers.

The story of a mother who loves her child so fiercely that she will never give up the search to find him after he is stolen as an infant. This story hit me so deeply that the first time I tried to read it, I had to put it down and go back to it later. One of Linda Howard's best, along with Sarah's Child. Much more intense than her excellent romances, which I savor because she does it all - great characters, plot, romance, intrigue, wit, and laughs! AND her stories come from a woman's/female/matriarchal perspective in all the best ways!
