It's one month after a global disaster. Manhattan has become Monster Island after a plague has turned all its denizens into shambling, rotting animated corpses, except for a couple who have kept their intelligence and also acquired psychic powers. When an expedition from Africa arrives, composed of teenage girl-soldiers and a former U.N. weapons inspector, the zombie masters mobilize their forces to kill or eat the living humans.

Entertaining read. Most of the book is set in New York City- a city full of zombies and difficult to navigate if you are part of the living. I found interesting that among the dead that return were mummies at a museum- a new twist compared to the other zombie books I have read.

very well written zombie story. Already put in my bid to read the next installment. Its a slightly new twist on the same ol' thang, with a little bit of history/knowledge thrown in to the mix. Great read all around, I highly recommend.

It took me a few try's to keep reading this book after the first page but once I did I found it to be worth my time. This is the first book in the series. Interesting and different story line then what i'm use to when it comes to zombie fiction.

great book i loved especially the setting and overall truth of what some of the Somalis say in this book. Can'd wait for the next book!
