I enjoy the television series and a coworker was telling me I needed to read the graphic novels because there are some differences. I'm glad I gave these a try! If you are a fan of show give these a shot while you wait for the next episode/season.

I had watched The Walking Dead with my friend, seeing as I had no other way to see it, but could never really get excited about it. But upon reading the first graphic novel of it, I immediately became interested in the story - the comic feels like it elaborates a little more on the characters as opposed to trying too hard to set the scene.

Just finished watching other people playing the video game of this and thought the story plot line is interesting so i've read the original comic book itself, would definitely recommend you to read it if you are a comic book lover and reader.

I am not an avid comic book reader unfortunately, but due to the hype of the show I was aware of this and being a fan of the show, the comic delivered just like the show did.

I have come from being a fan of the television show, and just have now decided to read the comics in it's original story line. I am very much pleased thus far with the first volume. I found the characters just as intriguing and interesting as in the show. I love reading about character development and this has plenty of it to offer. I love the little differences. Rick is still my favorite.

Great artwork and writing, but hopeless and bleak, just like a real zombie apocalypse would be. I must've not been in the right headspace as I couldn't get through vol.1 - probably won't continue the series.

Not at all like the TV show. Events happen in this book series very differently than the show. Still a good comic.

When small-town sheriff Rick Grimes wakes up from a gunshot-induced coma, the concerned faces of his family and friends do not surround him. Instead, the dead have become the undead, moaning and groaning and eating brains. For all intents and purposes, life as Rick knows it is over. There are few explanations here, and the story is better for it?Rick and the reader are flung headfirst into a ruined world and forced to battle hoards of reeking zombies for a very slim chance at survival. As Rick desperately searches for his missing wife and son in this, the first volume of the graphic novel series that inspired AMC?s hit TV show of the same name, authors Kirkman and Moore craft a compelling, character-driven story supported by black-and-white artwork that is finely detailed (and very often violent, zombies not being for the faint of heart). It?s human relationships that are at the heart of The Walking Dead, and the twists and turns that this new life throws at Rick and the other survivors are consistently thrilling and surprisingly thoughtful. The Walking Dead, Vol. 15: We Find Ourselves came out in December 2011?just in time for a very gory Christmas.

In an apocalyptic world of the dead returning to life, characters struggle with morality and the actions they must take to survive.

Rick Grimes awakens in a scene quite reminiscent of the British film '28 Days Later.'
Each volume does seem contained but leave reader yearning for more.
