I found the relationship between Tarkin and Vader much different than the movie. In the movie Tarkin called Vader friend.

An interesting, in-depth look at some of the characters and settings we glimpsed in ANH, plus more. Meet the guy who pulled the lever on Alderaan, the imperial librarian who leaked the plans to the deathstar, the architect who placed the thermal vent in it's fateful location. This book hit all the right notes.

An entertaining look at the inside of the Death Star that brings together a wide variety of characters ranging from Grand Moff Tarkin to prisoners from the planet Despayre. Its fun to see the events of Episode IV-A New Hope being retold in "Death Star", but seen from a different perspective. The ending is too far-fetched in my opinion, but overall a good read.
