Adler and Jung had a falling out with Freud . . . Knowing Adler and Jung were both introverts, Freud, being angry at both of them, from that time forward wrote about introversion in a negative light. He described introverts as neurotic and self-absorbed, and he portrayed only extroverts as healthy.

Marti’s career requires her to travel frequently to promote her books. As a doctor once jokingly told Marti, “Publishers try to kill authors on book tours so their work will become more valuable.”

Researchers have found that men who help out with the household chores have better sex lives, better health, and better marriages . . . Studies also show that men consistently overestimate the amount of housework they do.

Comment
Add a CommentI would recommend Marti Olsen Laney's earlier book, The Introvert Advantage, over this one. The advice given is pretty basic and unoriginal: communicate, be present, see the other's point of view. The authors erroneously label the left side of the brain as the thinking hemisphere and the right side as the feeling hemisphere. The left side specializes in verbal and linear thinking, true, but the right side's specialties (spacial relations, pattern recognition, etc.) also constitute thinking! There are some good sections to the book, so as the authors themselves suggest, skip around to find the parts that resonate with you.
