Add a CommentI almost flipped off this movie due to the terrible acting from the mom (now that is horror) at the beginning of the movie. The movie is okay for the time period but movies have come a long way since then and may not be appealing for those of us that have seen more recent films. You could say this was a child slasher film since this did not look like a camp for teenagers.
The acting is horrible in the movie and the death scenes were pretty simple and not gory which is nice for me but I am giving this movie a three start rating simply because of that disturbing ending, it's going to stick in the back of my mind forever.
Sometimes you watch movies you watched in your youth and go " what was I thinking"...this isnt quite one of them but because these types of films have advanced so much in the past 30 years, it seems rather lame. The acting is as bad as ever, but the regenerated reproduction makes the filmwork look much better so it helps. The "slashings" are pretty good for a movie done back in the hey days and if you have not seen this film but enjoy these types, I think you can overcome some things and get a good 90 minutes of wasted time out of the way. Just dont expect an Oscar calibre film . Better yet if you watch it late at night at a cottage.
If you're a huge horror fan you should probably see this. If nothing more, it's worth it for the truly disturbing ending image.
I watched this as a very young child and was probably terrified and impressed because I didn't know any better. Watching it now, as an adult? Yuck.
Parents, there is bald, unabashed pedophilia in this movie in the form of the camp cook who makes unveiled comments about taking advantage of the children in the camp. Really disgusting. Beware.
This is without a doubt the worst slasher film ever. It was so bad it was laughable so it should be regraded as a comedy. I can't imagine a more stupid collection of "actors", bad dialogue and inept "murder" scenes. Absolutely no redeemable social value.
Seriously? having watched and lived through ( and enjoyed) the 80's slasher flicks as well as what came later, I gotta say this movie was BRUTALLY BAD. Sooo bad acting, bad editing, bad so called graphics, and pathetic ending. ( although I laughed out loud at it ).
If you want a laugh, what the heck its only 90 min of your life.
A strange slasher movie from the earlier 80's. Not overloaded with action or gore, but the plot is pretty interesting and the twist at the end is original. Not as good as the original Halloween, Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm street, but it still holds its own. Worth a watch if you're a slasher fan.
