This book was written by a British author, citing costs in pounds and providing recipes for some traditional dishes there.Healthy in the author's definition seems to be home cooked as opposed to fast and processed food. Which, granted, is a definite improvement. But, be aware that there are recipes that include cream, butter, bacon, hotdogs, sausages and instant mashed potatoes. Some include frying as the cooking method. A fairly large proportion of the recipes are for desserts. No nutritional information is provided. The "with Very Little Money" in the title is not backed up with any cost breakdown. It's more geared to families trying to get a meal that kids will eat on the table quickly than for people who are looking to further reform their diet. If you really want to reduce costs while increasing health, try "Wildly Affordable Organic" where the author provides full shopping lists and cooking plans for eating mostly organic foods for $5/person/day (U.S. prices, but you'll definitely get some ideas).

Unsuitable for novices. Author gives vague directions, such as, "Make cheese sauce the usual way." No illustrations. Author suggests unusual breakfasts for children, such as cake and avocado sandwiches.
