Anna's pompous father has decided to send her to boarding school in France. Though abandoning her family and friends is not exactly what she had in mind for her senior year of high school, she quickly makes a few new friends in her residence hall. With their support she acclimates to her new school and also works on her self-confidence in exploring Paris itself. Anna finds herself drawn to one friend in particular, St. Clair.

This was a fun palate-cleanser. Though there were a handful of cringey moments designed to create necessary plot conflict, the first-person teenage voice felt authentic and the reader can't help but get pulled into Anna's world immediately. I appreciated the wink to the reader about the "real" identity of Anna's father. Ha!

Cute and innocent American-girl-sent-to-Paris-for-boarding-school (because that seems to be an entire trope on its own) romance. Very sweet.

Seventeen year old Anna is sent to an elite boarding school in Paris for her final year of high school. There, amongst the lights of Paris, she falls madly in loves with one of her classmates, Étienne St. Clair, who sadly already has a girlfriend. This is a feel-good fluffy young adult romance novel featuring two classy young adults slowly falling in love in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

This book was average. It was cute and all with St. Clair having an accent, but nothing that hasn't been done before. There were a few parts where Anna was being so stupid that I was ashamed to share first names. The setting of Paris was really nice though.

Anna and the French Kiss is a popular novel by Stephanie Perkins. Its setting of idyllic Paris did not disappoint! Being able to “visit" many world-renowned locations, unavailable now, made for a complemented reading experience. I was able to relate to many of Anna’s struggles, through her casual narrative. Her easy dialogue with Étienne was realistic and entertaining. There is also good humour that gives a really fun spice to the story. However, this can tire, especially with her requesting a Canadian flag (supposedly because Americans are “hated” in Paris, which is not as implied and untrue) and some of her more silly moments. Even with this, I appreciated her romance best of all. It is a “slow-burn” style, starting with friendship changing after many months to become romantic, which was much more true than the common instant love. The backdrop of one of the most beautiful cityscapes in the world could have been explored further. Regardless, I enjoyed this novel and would recommend it to all who might like an imperfect and sweet romance, a picturesque setting with French culture and a good serving of friendship. I would rate Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins 4/5 stars. While reading this book, all I wanted to do was get on a plane and go to school in Paris. I loved how the story incorporated all of the gems Paris has to offer, and it talked about French culture. I also really like Étienne’s personality, he was very likeable. He is the typical French boy of your dreams. I loved how Stephanie Perkins executed the relationship between Anna and Étienne; she showed what a teen relationship looks like, very awkward and confusing, definitely not what you see in many books and movies. The book was very funny and had a cute storyline. I enjoyed how the book had a different storyline than the typical YA romance read. The story did not revolve around the forbidden romance between 2 teens, which is typically seen in teen romance books. I would recommend this book for fans of Sarah Dessen and Kasie West between the ages of 12-16.

This book is a great read, it’s one of my favourite books. Anna, the main character has a great personality, she’s funny and her adventures in France are a page turner. This book is hilarious and extremely well written. Anna is very funny and brings a lot of humour to the story, which makes this the type of book you could re-read a million times. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend, in fact I already have. This book is a teen romantic comedy so if that’s something you like, I highly recommend you read it! 5/5 stars

All of the drama of falling in love as a teenager cleverly written in an engaging story. How can you not fall for YA love in Paris with a cute boy and an accent!

This is the best YA novel I've read for a long time and one of the best romances, too. Perkins is a genius when it comes to describing falling in love as a teenager - the obsession, the desperation, disappointments and -- when it all comes together -- the fireworks. I couldn't put this one down, and I'm a middle-aged mom. Also, she describes the setting, Paris, so well that it becomes a main character in the book. Bravo!

So I think I found my new favorite book!? I don't know why I purposely put off reading this book for so long, but as soon as I started reading it, it was like INSTANT REGRET. I mean a Romance Novel set in the Paris, the city of love should have been enough to make me want to read this book, but I'm just so stubborn. I avoided what I thought was going to be the most boring, sappiest romance novel ever written, but that was not the case. Stephanie Perkins did a wonderful job of writing an honestly genuine and unique human connection between Anna and a boy nick named St. Clair. St. Clair has a girlfriend, and Anna is determined not to fall in love with him, like all the other love struck girls at their school. The two end up creating a wonderful friendship and bond, all while Anna is secretly falling in love with him. She has to constantly remind herself throughout the novel that St. Clair is taken and in a long term relationship! This is the premise that starts you off on a wild adventure of miscommunications. All this while exploring the city of Paris. I can't imagine a more perfect setting for this budding romance than the streets of Paris. This is such a happy, feel good read, honestly I recommend reading this book on a gloomy, rainy day, because it will just turn your whole day around and put you in such a positive mood.

This doesn't stop Anna from falling head over heels for him, with predictable consequences.

Anna is sent to a school in Paris by her father. She is afraid at first. She cannot speak French, nor does she act French. She is without her family in the “city of light and love”. She misses her friends and family in the beginning but then quickly makes friends. Mer introduces her the “Chocolat Chaud” (meaning hot chocolate, not Chocolate show). Anna also meets an American-French-English boy named Etienne St Clair. Despite her crush on Toph (the guy she kissed back in Atlanta), she finds herself falling for St Clair. At first, they become really close friends. But things start to get complicated when they are left alone for Thanksgiving break. Anna knows Etienne is dating Ellie and he knows there might be something going on between Anna and Toph. Will they end up together or will they realize it’s best to stay friends?
