An eccentric French shopkeeper turned documentary maker attempted to locate and befriend Banksy, only to have the artist turn the camera back on its owner with spectacular results. Banksy is a graffiti artist with a global reputation whose work can be seen on walls from post-hurricane New Orleans to the Palestinian segregation wall in the West Bank. Fiercely guarding his anonymity to avoid prosecution, Banksy has so far resisted all attempts to be captured on film.

This is one of the most interesting movies I've ever seen. I'm not sure if it promotes or mocks the art industry.

Its really a movie about a huckster named Thierry Guetta, and how he gamed the charlatanism infected art-quango world, and profited handsomely.

What an absolute bore! That is one of the most hum-drum documentary - type films I have ever seen. I really don't care if it is real or not, overall the movie itself is terrible.

Neat flick about street art, and the fine line between art and commerce. Hits on many levels.

Very worth watching.

I'm not a big fan of Banksy, so this was just "ok" to me. Some of the people in it were interesting. I found the treatment of the elephant offensive.

Love Banksy, the street art history lesson and introduction to other artists. Not so sure about Mr. Brainwash.

Google the title of the film for an interesting wander through various theories on the characters followed in this film.

This documentary took an unexpected turn. It's not entirely about Banksy. There seems to be a phenomenon of overnight artists with their so called art... I can't believe Thierry made so much money, it's like a bad joke or something.

Interesting. But more a more eclectic and wider collection of artists and viewpoints about the movement would have been much better.

Whether you love or hate street art, this movie will make you love and hate street art. I sincerely hope that Mr. Brainwash never makes another dollar in his life off of his "art".

Banksy: Uhmmm... You know... it was at that point that I realized that maybe Thierry wasn't actually a film maker, and he was maybe just someone with mental problems who happened to have a camera.

Banksy: Most artists take years to develop their style, Thierry seemed to miss out on all those bits.

Banksy: Warhol repeated iconic images until they became meaningless, but there was still something iconic about them. Thierry really makes them meaningless.
