It is unquestionably a beautifully filmed documentary - but I do have some questions about animals dying in the series - I suspect that some of the creatures were 'set up' to fail, as it were, to get a great story (namely the baby bat and the fish living in thermal waters) They could easily leave that out and still have more than enough interesting 'facts'.

i found this quite interesting despite the fact that the narrator takes an Evolutionist's point of view about everything in this show.

Before this dvd, I had heard of Africa's Great Rift Valley, but that was about it. This was fascinating; like a can't-put-it-down book, I had to watch every second. I now know all about the entire Great Rift, not just the Valley. BBC has almost outdone themselves ("almost" because it could only be better if Attenborough narrated).
I highly recommend it to anyone facinated by natural history!

YEAH! Good behavior of hippos is by far the best part!
