Born (1917) into poverty in Brooklyn, NY - (cartoonist/illustrator) Will Eisner is credited with being the creator of the popular comic strip "The Spirit" in 1940.

This 3-part documentary series covers the 60-year career of Eisner who (in 1978) popularized the genre of the graphic novel with "Contract With God".

Through stills, film clips, and interviews - This intriguing documentary takes a close-up look at the life and career of Will Eisner, who was a multiple award-winner throughout his lifetime.

*Note* - In 2005 - Will Eisner (87 at the time) died of a heart attack.
