Basil Rathbone as a good guy for once is wonderful. He was perfectly cast for the role. No one can ever come close to him as the immortal Sherlock Holmes. I have watched all of the episodes and there is one thing I regret: they weren't more Sherlock Holmes stories with Rathbone and Bruce.

Four episodes:
"Pearl of Death", 1944
"The Scarlet Claw", 1944
"The Spider Woman", 1944
"The House of Fear", 1945
The team of Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes nd Nigel Bruce as Dr Watson was terrifically entertaining. Basil Rathbone usually had roles of dark-hearted characters but here he was superbly cast as Holmes. Rathbone had the perfect nose for he role. No other acctor came close to the demands of the role, although Peter Cushing also did a good job.
